We hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful summer! We have really enjoyed the events that have taken place at our property in Morrison, and thanks to everyone for a great time at German Fest!
In July, the Schuhplattlers were lucky enough to be able to represent T.E.V. Edelweiss and the Huosigau in Preisplattln um den Bayerischen Lowe. We were the only Verein from North America to be able to participate and we placed 6th out of 16 groups! Also, we are very proud of Otto Gorner who placed 2nd in his age group! A big thanks to our Patenverein and friends in Diessen who once again were gracious enough to house and host us. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without them!
Please remember to support our Jugend Schuhplattlers in their efforts to offset the costs of next year’s Jugend Exchange by attending their Fundraising BBQ dinner and dance on Sunday, September 6th. Admission is $10 per person and includes dinner and dancing to Ricky Borger.
August 13th-17th the Schuhplattlers will be in Toledo, OH to attend the Gauverband Nordamerika Gaufest. The team has been practicing hard since February for the gruppen competition and we will have ten adults and three children representing us in einzelplattln competition. We are sure to have a great time and be represented well while spending time with our friends from around the country.
