Happy Gründungsfest!

After our large celebration in September the Schuhplattlers are looking forward to celebrating the club’s official Gründungsfest this month. We hope everyone will participate in the VereinsAbend on November 7th and attend the festivities on November 8th.

We have had some changes in the Schuhplattler officers in the last few months. Chris Collins is now the I.Vorplattler and Bill Collins is the II.Vorplattler. We truly appreciate everything Jeff did for us during his time and welcome Chris and Bill into their new positions.

At our last meeting it was decided that our children would participate in the Jugend exchange with our Patenverein in Diessen in the summer of 2010. This will also coincide with the Diessen group’s 90th Gründungsfest which will give our children as well as our adults an amazing opportunity to be present for such an occasion. We would like to invite all Edelweiss members to start thinking about whether or not they’d like to attend. The dates have not yet been set but please feel free to ask any of the Schuhplattler officers if you have any questions. It’s never too early to start saving those pennies!

As mentioned last month, we had 15 Schuhplattlers visit Germany in October to compete and lend their support in the Bayerische Löwe and Huosigau competitions. The results of the competitions will be in next month’s article.

Also, Brandon Saratella turns 16 this month which means he becomes a Senior dancer. Congratulations and Happy Birthday Brandon!
